Eric A., Portland, Oregon writes: 1962 and ’63 STILL stand out as 2 years of incredible events: 1962 had the results of the Bay of Pigs come out; and the closest yet that the then U.S.S.R. and U.S.A. came to WW III due to the Cuban Missile Crisis; and the early flights of the Mercury Program. 1963 to me will always be remembered for that warm fall day in Dallas, Texas, when we lost Camelot, by JFK’s being assassinated (on my 10th birthday).
